Perfume Advert

 


My target audience/demographic was 35+ year old, ABC1 females (millennials especially). To do this, I used a bouquet of roses and baby's breath to have connotations of sophistication, tenderness and innocence. Using this bouquet of flowers linked to the scent of the perfume, as the perfume itself has a floral scent. Flowers are seen to be a very feminine product, so I wanted to use a bouquet of roses (a common bouquet of flowers a lot of women may wish to have) to draw the audience into buying the product and understanding how it will smell. To add on, the image is the entire advertisement, immediately grasping the attention of the audience as it is clear and essentially in their face and they will want to see what the product is on the image (attention in the AIDA marketing model).
I used the phrasing "Leave a trail of elegance everywhere you go" to continue the meaning of sophistication and innocence I want for this product. To add on to this, this explains a benefit of the product: tying in their outfits by leaving an elegant scent with them. This helps interest the audience into buying the product as it explains how the product will benefit them and improve their self-confidence and style (interest in the AIDA marketing model).
I used the imperative verb "leave" to attempt to make a connection with the audience to show that this product's scent will linger and make them essentially desirable because they smell good. I also used the word "elegance" which emphasises the beauty and self confidence the product will give them if they buy it, giving them a desire to get the product to receive that self-confidence to then eventually buy it. (desire & action in the AIDA marketing model).

When taking the photos used in this picture, we learnt how to use a DSLR camera. We learnt all the different modes that are available to use for specific looks on a photo. For example, if we wanted a close-up of an image, we used the flower (close-up) mode to do so, allowing the detail to be much clearer. We also learnt that to change the shutter speed (determines if it shows blur when an action is being made), we turned a dial at the top of the camera. 
In order to edit these images together, we used Photoshop. To make this, I imported the image of my school's logo at the top corner to make the advert seem more real. I then added text, found a fitting font, chose the correct colour by using the colour picking tool on the logo to make the advert have a fitting colour palette. To make the circular images, I used the brush tool for a dot and used a clipping layer on my picture over the dot to make it a circular shape. After that, I used outer-stroke for the coloured rings around it.
As it is a school advert, I wanted to display the positive and community based aspects of the school (aka. a large painting on one of our buildings, working, and food). I used an image of myself working in the sixth form block in front of our food and drinks section as it would appeal to the sixth formers who are looking to find a good sixth form and I ensured I was working also to show the dedication of the students. To show the community and creativity that the school possesses I used a picture of the large painting on our windows on our tech block.
